A Playdate With My Friend

Hi Everybuddy!

I had a really fun playdate yesterday with my friend Maggie.  She is so tiny and I love her!  Sometimes Mommy has to remind me that she is smaller than me and that I shouldn't run up and push my face into her face because she might be scared.  This is hard for me to understand because usually I am the smallest dog.  I sometimes forget that I'm bigger than her.

One of our favorite things to do together is play chase around the backyard.  We are very zoomie.  Maggie is pretty fast.  If I didn't have back problems, I would be as fast as her though, and don't you forget it!

I will catch up to you, Maggie!  Boing boing zoom zoom ruuuuuuunnnnn!!!  Daddy says, "Not so fast Poppy!  You don't want to hurt your back!"

Phew!  That was fun!  Did I catch you?  Or did you stop?  Well, let's not quibble over details.

After running, it's good to have a little snack.  Our garden is overflowing and Daddy picked these produces for me!  (You know how I love produce.)  At least I thought they were for me, but then I didn't get to have hardly any!  Only one small cherry tomato!  I did my best to let everybuddy know what I wanted by scratching on this big tomato.

After snacks, we did sunbathing.  We are both very fond of sunbathing.  Maybe someday we will lie right next to each other in the sun like good bestest friends.  But for now, we will choose our own sunbathing spots.  I chose the dusty goldfine because it is a little bit soft.  Maggie chose the patio.  She was close to the water bowl for easy access.  Smart!

My Beach Day

Hi Everybuddy!

On Friday I said that I was hoping to go to the beach on Saturday, and...we did!  It was so warm and sunshiny by the ocean and we had a great time.

When we got there, I started exploring and found one of my favorite things right away: iceplant!  I like to try to chew on it a little bit.  Mommy and Daddy always stop me from eating it though.  It's so juicy; they don't know what they're missing out on!

We went for a little run-around down by the water.  It is waaay too cold to go in, in my opinion.  However, there was a big black lab there who kept chasing his ball into the waves.  So brave!  I prefer to stay dry.

We had a little photo session.  Do you like my pose?  I think I did a pretty good job!

And of course I had to get a yummy treat for posing so nicely!

Mostly what I love to do at the beach is sunbathe.  I like baking until I am nice and hot.  Mommy calls me her little desert dog.  Don't worry--I always wear my sunscreen!

A Long Walk

Hi Furiends!

Mommy and I went on a super long walkie today!  We don't know exactly how long though, because Mommy forgot to push the button on her pedometer.  Maybe next time she should let me wear it.  Anyway, we walked all around our neighborhood.  It is a super nice and sunny today, so it was a nice day for a walk.

Mommy, why did you take a picture of me walking past a sewer hole cover?  Hmmm, this is not a very photogenic picture.  But this is a good action shot because you can see one of my paws up in the air.

Oh, this picture is much better!  For some reason Mommy always wants me to look at the camera.  I don't know why.  My profile is very cute.

Look at this pretty lantana flower we saw!  It was red and orange and yellow--I like all of those colors!

Whew!  Now that we are home, I think I am going to take a little rest on my favorite pillow.  Mommy, can you please put the camera away and let me have my beauty rest?  Thank you!

A Grassy Adventure

Halp! I'm being eated by a big grassy thing!

No, I'm only kidding! I am actually sniffing the depths of this plant because there was a very important pee-mail inside it.

Did you have a nice Labor Day weekend?  I got to eat some barbeque and go on this nice walk yesterday.  Fun!  I love holidays!

Tomato Blocked!

Hey, what's the big idea?!  Somebody put this fence here to block me out of my favorite part of the garden!  Now how am I supposed to reach my tomatoes?

                                   


I tried asking nicely to get in there, but Mommy wouldn't let me.  She thinks I've been eating too many tomatoes lately.

Pee Ess:  Even though I was tomato blocked, Mommy still gave me two tomatoes because I'm so cute!!!

I'm a Trail Dog!!!

Hi Furiends!

I went on a big hiking adventure and I want to tell you all about it!  We went to the forest where there were lots of big trees.  There were so many good things to sniff and smell.  I was so excited and I said LET'S GOOOOO and I started walking down the trail.

We found a big mossy stump, and of course Mommy made me sit on it for a picture.  But I only had to be there for a second and then I got to walk some more.

We encountered an OBSTACLE!  I thought about whether to go over or under, and for me under was the better choice.  Mommy and Daddy went over.

Hiking is very tiring for my little legs and my sore back, so after a couple of miles I decided I was done walking.  Luckily, Mommy and Daddy always plan for this by bringing my orange backpack.  They knew I wanted to get in when they put the pack on the ground and I ran over to it and looked up at them.  Then I got to ride.  YAY!!!

At the end of our hike we were tired and hungry, so we stopped and had a snack at the picnic area.

What a fun day we had!  I hope you had a nice weekend too.
