My Big Camping Adventure

I had a great time on my camping trip. I did lots of sniffing and hiking and stick-chewing! Our campground was right on the lake, so we got to spend some time at the beach, which is my favorite! Here I am practicing my camouflage techniques: (Can you see me? Can you?)

I had stepped in some tree sap at the campsite, and then while we were at the beach I got a whole bunch of little pebbles stuck in my paw. Yuck. After a little romp on the beach, I sat and rested for a while and admired the view:

Dinner that night was delicious! When we are traveling, I always get Wet Treats for dinner because I am such a picky eater that I refuse to eat my dry foods. As you can see, Daddy had started a camp fire. It was such a nice night for a meal alfresco:

The next morning I did not want to get out of bed. Mommy and Daddy woke up and I said, "Are you kidding me? It's much too cozy inside my sleeping bag to go outside yet."

When I finally got up, we started planning for our hike. While Mommy and Daddy decided where to go, I soaked up some rays and snuggled with my Wubba Snugga:

As you all know, I am a Hiking Chihuahua. However, since my back injury, I have not been able to hike all that much. I am allowed to walk a little bit, but then I have to spend some time riding in my pouch or my backpack. But I like riding too, so I can't complain too much. After my ride--er, I mean hike--we ended up at this waterfall. It was really pretty, although I have to say that loud rushing water reminds me of B-A-T-H. But nobody tried to throw me in, so it was okay:

The next day we drove home, and boy was I a sleepy little Poo! Sometimes I like to ride with my chin up on the side of my carseat. Mommy and Daddy think it's funny, but if they tried it, they would see that it is really comfortable:

I hope you enjoyed the pictures of my trip!
Bye for now!

What a great vacation you had, Poppy! It made me want to be a hiker, too. I love the picture of you in your sleeping bag; you look so cozy!

Poppy,
My mom and I LOVE the pictures! What a beautiful lake. I hope you got the pebbles out of your toes. I have to say, your trip looked so great, especially snuggling in the sleeping bag and car seat! I think I'd like that the best :)

It looks like a lot of fun, and it must be nice to get to be carried around. I simply don't see my humans carrying around Spineless Sam's 65 pound bulk in a cute backpack, but I told him to give it a shot.

I also noticed the stylish fashion ensembles for every day. I hope your humans don't make you carry your own bag.

I just wanted to come over to meet you. I saw you got the award from Pedro, who is a good friend of mine. Did you really have such a tough surgery and relearn how to walk? That is awesome. My sister is Misty, mentioned in Pedro's post, and Misty had a kidney removed. So glad to meet such a fighter.
Looks like you had a great time camping!

Hi Poppy, I saw Pedro give you an award and I thought I would stop by and say, "Hi". Congratulations on your award!

Wow Poppy, what an adventure you had.Where did you get to go camping. That place looks like a place in California called Kernville.

I have three Chihuahuas (yes, I know I am "different").

I have a blonde Chihuahua too. I don't know if blond is a real color for a dog, but sometimes I tell people she is the color of a golden retriever. Her name is Tinky.

My other Chi, Jonesy also loves to nose french. As soon as he gets anywhere near you, the tongue goes up the nostril just as quick as a lizard. Yuck!

Come by, and say, "Hi" when you have a chance.
