My Pool and My Rollerblades

Yesterday was really hot, so Mommy and Daddy decided to finally set up my pool. The verdict is that I do not like it! Maybe I will change my mind when the water gets warmer, but right now it is freezing!

I was very helpful during the set-up process, especially the pumping part. Here I am encouraging Mommy to pump more efficiently:
But then when Daddy put the hose in and started filling it with water, I started to get a little concerned. And then when I saw my pink lifejacket come out, I was downright worried. This next picture was taken shortly after my brief encounter with the 65 degree water. As you can see, Mommy is smiling, but clearly I AM NOT!!!
I would like to say for the record that I valiantly attempted to swim by kicking my little legs as fast as I could. Mommy was holding my lifejacket handle the whole time (about 8 seconds), so I knew I wouldn't drown, but it was just too cold and wet! I think we have to get a solar pool cover.

Today was much cooler, so Mommy and Daddy taught me how to rollerblade! At first I didn't quite have the hang of it because I was not used to my chariot going so fast. But then I realized that it was pretty awesome!
The best window to look out of is the bottom one, because you can lie down while you take in the view. Daddy pushed on the way there, and Mommy pushed on the way back. After a fair and impartial decision making process, I have come to the conclusion that Mommy provides a smoother ride.

While the ride is very smooth, I am not sure that Mommy has the best rollerblading technique. But check out how we zoom right through that stop sign. That's called a California Roll, baby!!!

I hope everyone else had as good a weekend as I had!

Bye for now,
Poppy the Little Blonde Rollerblading Chihuahua

Wow! You get a riding coach and everything! My humans tried that rollerblading thing except they hooked Nikki (the queen before me) and Nova (old guy-guy) to leashes and wanted them to pull her. After the skin grafting, she learned never to rollerblade behind huskies.

Hi Poppy,
it looks like you have alot of fun riding in your buggy. I wish I had one. I went in the pool yesterday too and it felt good. Maybe when the water warms up you will like it better!

Poppy, maybe you will enjoy the pool more when it gets warmer. That rollerblading ride looks very exhilarating! I have the same stroller (in blue), but we never go that fast.

That looks like a lot of fun, Poppy! You are a lucky chi to have such a great royal carriage to ride in. ;)

The boys don't LOVE the pool either - but when it is so hot, they have to cool down somehow!

Oh gosh darn it, Poppy - you are SO FRICKIN' CUTE in your chariot!!!

And I'd be terrified of that pool too. With or without the "p"... although it would probably have a little more after I was in there a while.

65 - sounds warm to me. In England, when it's 65, we head off to the beach where we go in the sea that is 50. We get cold.

I don't like pools either, Poppy, but you sure look like you're having fun rollerblading! I could see you showing your mom where to go!

I don't think the same laws for drivers applies to roller bladers...does it?

I wouldn't like the pool either!

You are a bladin' babe!!

Yeah, Mom thinks we'll like our pool when it gets hotter (if that's possible) but I have my doubts!

Mom is thinking about buying Lilly one if those chariots. Were you scared of it at first?
