An Outing With My Best Friend

Hi Everybuddy!

I got to have a little outing with my best friend Maggie today.  We had lunch and then went for a little walk in the park.

We did this very nice pose on a bench.  Don't you think so?

We found something very good to smell right here.

After lunch and a walk, I was tired and ready to head home in my basket.

Oh, Google Reader, What Have You Done to Me???

Hi Everybuddy,

My Mommy and I are having a hard time getting around to read everyone's blogs now that Google Reader is no more.  What is everybuddy else doing to keep up with blogs now?  Please tell me what your method is!  I am thinking about making one of those BookFace thingies...  Mommy's not so sure.  I promised her I would do all the work, but she says that my paws might have a hard time reaching the keys and clicking the like button.  What do you think?

Happy Fourth of July!

Hi Furiends!

I am resting my back and taking my meds. I am allowed to go in the back yard for fresh air and bathroom breaks, as long as I don't run around like a crazy dog. Today I did my best patriotic pose on my bridge. I hope all my American furiends have a safe and fun day celebrating with their peoples!

Summer Livin'

Hi Furiends,

Oh my goodness, Mommy has gotten a little behind on helping me with my blogging.  Hhmmm, I will have to have a talk with her about that.

Are you having a good summer?  I am!  I have been enjoying the sunshine and the fruit, in that order.  Mommy got a new camera and has been having a lot of fun taking eleventy million pictures of me.  Here I am enjoying the sunshine in the backyard:

Hey, check out this big tree at our park!  We have redwood trees at our park and when it's hot outside, a little bit of coolness can be found underneath the redwoods.

We went to the beach on Saturday.  It was warm, but windy.  I don't mind the wind that much, just as long as I get to sunbathe!

Do I have to sit like this with my butt in the sand?

Maybe I'll just lie down riiiiight here.  Aaahhhh, yes.

What's that?  I have a little sand on my nose?

Don't worry.  Mommy will get it later.

I promised there would be fruit.  I haven't forgotten.  Here I am enjoying some of the sweet bounty that summer has to offer:

A Case of the Zoomies

Sunbathing

Hi Furiends,

I have really been enjoying the sunshine lately.  I like to go outside in the backyard in the afternoons and sunbathe a little bit.  Mommy calls it "sunbaking" because I like to get really hot.  The poppies are blooming right now, and after I relax a little bit, Mommy likes to take my picture with them.

Today I did a little sunbathing at my Grandma and Grandpa's house.  I like to sunbathe anywhere!

A Desert Trek

Hi Furiends!

Last weekend we went on a desert trek day trip.  Just cuz.  It was a long drive, but I didn't mind because mostly I just like to be with my Mommy and Daddy no matter what they are doing.

We found a tiny little desert park with lots of joshua trees.  The nature trail was a little narrow and Mommy was worried about rattlesnakes, so I got carried.  I like to dangle my feets when Daddy carries me like this.

In the places where the path was wide, I got to walk.  Daddy said I was "walking in the sands of my ancestors" on account of I am a chihuahua and I guess we come from the desert.  Hhmm...

Mommy said I am a good little road-tripper.  I guess that means I like to sit quietly in my chair and watch the world go by.  It was a pretty fun day, all in all.

A Poppy-ful Birthday Hike

Hi Everybuddy!

Yesterday was my 8th birthday!  Can you believe that I am 8 years old now?  People always think I'm still a puppy.  The other day at the pet food store, the treat lady asked how old I was.  Whey Mommy said, "almost eight," the nice treat lady said, "months?"  Mommy laughed and said, "no, years!"  The treat lady was very surprised to know that I am a...ahem...senior dog now.  Mommy and Daddy said they can hardly believe it themselves sometimes.

To celebrate my big day, we went for a little walk in a beautiful place with lots and lots of POPPIES!  They are Mommy's favorite flower, which is why I am named after them.  There were tons of them right at the entrance gate to the park:

Once we started walking, Mommy saw some more spots of orange on top of a hill and said we had to go up there.  So we did.  It was so warm and sunny and I was panting and panting, but I was a very good hiker and walked to the top.  (It really wasn't very far because Mommy's knee is a little bit injured right now.)

When we got to the top, sure enough, there were lots more poppies up there!  And a great view, too!

I am smiling my best smile in this picture because it was such a wonderful day and I am so happy that I have gotten to live eight of the bestest years anyone has ever lived!

My New Tracksuit!

I got a new outfit today. It's fuzzy and warm and just right for chilly evenings around the campfire. I love it!

The pants and the sweatshirt are attached. My Mommy had to go to another town to get it in my size because they didn't have it at our local store in size medium. I need a looong one because I have a looong torso.

Do I look very fashionable?

The Woof Pack

Hi Furiends!

My BFF Maggie and I are thinking about starting a doggy gang.  Her Mom bought us these super cool matching black zip-up hoodies.  Don't we look awesome!  We are thinking of getting them embroidered with our club name:  The Woof Pack!!!  Or maybe with our initials, just like Laverne and Shirley!

Speaking of shopping, my Mommy went on a little shopping spree the other day.  She says she bought some stuff for me, but she won't tell me what it is.  I can't wait to find out!!!  Perhaps it will be delivered by my very own courier service:

I don't remember starting a courier service, but I guess I must have.  Does anybuddy need anything delivered??

Spring is Here, I Think

Hi Everybuddy!

Spring has arrived in my backyard. Can you see all the plum blossom petals on the ground behind me? They all bloomed and then the wind blew and they all fell down.

When the weather is nice, I like to amble around the yard and nibble the grass. Sometimes I just sit on my bridge and think. (And when I say think, I mean "think about the treats that I will get if I sit and pose nicely.")
