Summer Livin'

Hi Furiends,

Oh my goodness, Mommy has gotten a little behind on helping me with my blogging.  Hhmmm, I will have to have a talk with her about that.

Are you having a good summer?  I am!  I have been enjoying the sunshine and the fruit, in that order.  Mommy got a new camera and has been having a lot of fun taking eleventy million pictures of me.  Here I am enjoying the sunshine in the backyard:

This grass is kinda prickly, but I'll just lie here for a little while.

Mommy, what are you doing over here?  Mommy?

MOMMY?!  MOOOOOMMMM!!!

Hey, check out this big tree at our park!  We have redwood trees at our park and when it's hot outside, a little bit of coolness can be found underneath the redwoods.

We went to the beach on Saturday.  It was warm, but windy.  I don't mind the wind that much, just as long as I get to sunbathe!

Do I have to sit like this with my butt in the sand?

Maybe I'll just lie down riiiiight here.  Aaahhhh, yes.

What's that?  I have a little sand on my nose?
Don't worry.  Mommy will get it later.

I promised there would be fruit.  I haven't forgotten.  Here I am enjoying some of the sweet bounty that summer has to offer:

This is a teeny tiny strawberry from our very own backyard!

I hope you all are enjoying your summer, wherever you are (or your winter, if you're in the southern hemisphere).

Bye for now!

Happy HOWLoween!!!

Happy Howloween Everybuddy!

Let me tell you I sure have been busy this week!  My Mommy was so excited about Howloween that she wanted me to do two different photo shoots--one with my costume and one in a special scene that she set up.

Did you guess what my costume is?  I'm a strawberry!!!

Mommy set up all these pumpkins in the backyard for me to pose in front of.  We growed almost all of them ourselves!  Except the big one in the back with the fancy stem and the two little dark orange ones one either end.

In this picture I am practicing my prairie dog pose behind the pumpkins.  This was a little bit hard.  After a few seconds, my legs started to get wibbly.  I am not very strong.  But I tried my best!

For my costume, Mommy took my red sweater and stuck some watermelon seeds onto it.  And then I wore the green collar from my very first Howloween costume (I was a pumpkin then).

The next day, Mommy and Daddy cut open the giant pumpkin and scooped out the middle so I could sit inside of it!  Mommy got this great idea from Bailey.  (She is super cute!)

Don't worry--I did not have to sit inside a yucky wet pumpkin and get my furs all pumpkiney.  Mommy put a bag inside for me to sit in.

I was happy to sit in there as long as they kept giving me treats...YUM!

After the photo shoot, I wanted to check out this huge pumpkin.  Did you know that I really, really, REALLY love pumpkin?!

I tried to get some of the insides, but I couldn't quite manage...

But with a little fancy tongue work, I got some off the lid!!!

When we were all finished, Mommy carved a face into the pumpkin and she finally gave me a piece!  It was so delicious!!!

I hope you have a very nice Happy Howloween!!!

A Playdate With My Friend

Hi Everybuddy!

I had a really fun playdate yesterday with my friend Maggie.  She is so tiny and I love her!  Sometimes Mommy has to remind me that she is smaller than me and that I shouldn't run up and push my face into her face because she might be scared.  This is hard for me to understand because usually I am the smallest dog.  I sometimes forget that I'm bigger than her.

One of our favorite things to do together is play chase around the backyard.  We are very zoomie.  Maggie is pretty fast.  If I didn't have back problems, I would be as fast as her though, and don't you forget it!

I will catch up to you, Maggie!  Boing boing zoom zoom ruuuuuuunnnnn!!!  Daddy says, "Not so fast Poppy!  You don't want to hurt your back!"

Phew!  That was fun!  Did I catch you?  Or did you stop?  Well, let's not quibble over details.

After running, it's good to have a little snack.  Our garden is overflowing and Daddy picked these produces for me!  (You know how I love produce.)  At least I thought they were for me, but then I didn't get to have hardly any!  Only one small cherry tomato!  I did my best to let everybuddy know what I wanted by scratching on this big tomato.

After snacks, we did sunbathing.  We are both very fond of sunbathing.  Maybe someday we will lie right next to each other in the sun like good bestest friends.  But for now, we will choose our own sunbathing spots.  I chose the dusty goldfine because it is a little bit soft.  Maggie chose the patio.  She was close to the water bowl for easy access.  Smart!

I hope you have a fun weekend with your family and friends!

Tomato Blocked!

Hey, what's the big idea?!  Somebody put this fence here to block me out of my favorite part of the garden!  Now how am I supposed to reach my tomatoes?

I tried asking nicely to get in there, but Mommy wouldn't let me.  She thinks I've been eating too many tomatoes lately.

Pee Ess:  Even though I was tomato blocked, Mommy still gave me two tomatoes because I'm so cute!!!

Roachin' and Rollin' in the Pawlympics!

Hi Everybuddy!

Today I am competing in the Roachin' and Rollin' event over at Ruby and Penny's place.  I am in heat two.  There are so many great pictures there today!  And we are all winners in the Pawlympics!

After my event was over, I took a little rest in the backyard and did some sunbathing.  It's important to stretch and cool down after exercising, you know.

And then of course I had to have a little snack.  It's important to keep your strength up if you are a Pawlympic athlete!  And there just happened to be a nice basket of tomatoes in the garden.  How convenient!

Happy Fourth of July!!!

Happy Fourth of July, Everybuddy!!!

Our celebration was all packed into two hours starting at 8:00pm because we were waiting for Daddy to get home from work before we started having fun.  When he got home, we had a barbeque with organic corn and veggie dogs!!!  I found the corn husks on the ground and I tried to taste them a little bit, but Mommy said those were not for eating--I'm not sure why.

I got to eat a little bit of corn and hot dog and it was all SO YUMMY!!!  You might say that I am a little bit spoiled, I guess...

After dinner, Mommy and Daddy bicycled out to a place where they could see fireworks.  I stayed home because they thought it would be a little too loud for me.  I'm not scared of fireworks, but I was happy to stay home anyway.

You all remember my greenbean adventure, right?  Well, Mommy made a scrapbook page about it!  Look!
She used supplies from Shabby Princess, Anna Aspnes, Lynn Grieveson, Gina Cabrera, and Katie Pertiet this, this, and this.

I Love Froooooot!!!

Hello everybuddy!

Today I will tell you all about my recent fruit adventures.  I got to try HONEYDEW melon for the first time.  Oh wow is it good!  Daddy cut off the very end of the big giant fruit and gave it to me.  He thought maybe I would just lick it a bunch, but I actually developed a pretty effective method for digging out some of the frooooty goodness.  I used my tongue to get the juice...

...and my sharp little teeth to get the fruit.  See what it looked like when I was done!

Do you remember my greenbean adventure?  Well, I had a TOMATO adventure the other day!  I really really wanted these tomatoes soooo bad, but nobody would help me get them.  Mommy kept saying the were too green.  Hey, I don't care what color they are.  All I know is they smelled goooood!  (If you turn the volume way up, you might be able to hear me gruffing and whining in the video.)

And then last night I got to share Mommy's late night snack!  She had peaches and soymilk.  I LOVE PEACHES AND SOYMILK!!!  I got to have a little piece of yummy peach all soaked in soymilk, which is my favorite liquid ever, even though it gives me gas.

I hope your days are filled with froooty adventures!

A Garden Morning

Hello Everybuddy,

I had a super fun time in my garden yesterday morning.  I found where the greenbeans were hiding!

I decided to pick a few beans for a little snack.

Mommy thought I had had enough, but I pretended not to hear her. Who, me?!

K is for Kale!

I don't usually care for leafy green vegetables, but last night I went bananas over some kale that Daddy dropped on the floor while he was chopping it for dinner. When I was finally able to grab a piece, I ran with it into the living room and started chowing down. At first Mommy thought I was just going to shred it and leave little wet pieces all over the rug, which is what I usually do. But this time I actually ate it!

Mommy took a video of me eating my second leaf:

I'm going to Lake Tahoe this weekend, so...
