I Am Getting Ready for Howloween!

Hi Everybuddy!

Can you believe it's October already?!  It's almost time to get dressed up for Howloween.  I like Howloween because I get to wear a special outfit.  Usually we go out to dinner and then go visit my friends and grandparents to show off my costume.

Let's take a walk down memory lane!

2005 was my first Howloween.  I was a pumpkin.
This costume was a little difficult to wear, but oh it was delicious!
I couldn't help it; I was just a baby puppy back then!

In 2006 I was a Bee-Dog.  This was a fun costume and a fun photoshoot.
Back then there was a really fun website all about dogs in bee costumes.
Mommy was hoping my picture could go on that website, but shortly after she sent it in,
the website stopped putting up new pictures.

In 2007 I was Sooper Pooper!  Mommy made this costume for me by hand.  Thanks, Mommy!
It's hard to see in this picture, but my yellow belt has little stars on it!

In 2008 I was a lizard...or maybe a dinosaur.
I got this costume from some friends who thought I would look cute in it.
I think it looks like the lizard-saurus is hugging me!

In 2009 I was an enchihuahua...get it?!
Mommy made this costume for me and she is very proud of it.
I love this costume.  On the front there is an ingredients label that says,
"100% Delicious Enchihuahua.  Made with all natural ingredients:
tortilla, beans, lettuce, red sauce, and love."

In 2010 I was a One Eyed One Horned Flyin' Purple People Eater.
Do you know the song?  My Mommy and my Grandma used to sing it a lot when my Mommy was little.
Mommy made the wings for me to wear over my purple sweater.
I was not feeling good that year because my back was hurting a little.
When I felt better, Mommy let me wear my costume.

In 2011 I reprised the Bee-Dog outfit.

I have my costume all picked out for this year.  I will give you a clue.  It is red.  It also involves a small piece from my very first Howloween costume.  I can't wait to show you!

Do you have Howloween plans?  Have you decided what you are going to be?  I'm excited to see everyone all dressed up!

Football Sunday

Hello Furiends,

Today I am watching football with my Daddy.  I have a special jersey for the team that he likes.  It's red and it says 49ers on it.  I am number 00, which I think is a very good number!

Unfortunately I don't really understand football, and sometimes I get sleepy while we are watching.  That's okay.  Daddy doesn't mind.  Besides, I always wake up when he yells, which happens an awful lot.

I hope you are having a nice, relaxing Sunday afternoon, too!

A Nice Sun Spot

I love it when the sun comes in the window in the afternoon and shines on my favorite pillow. It's the perfect place for a nice sunshiny nap.

Uh Oh...Dog Shaming

Hi Everybuddy!

I went to visit my friend Maggie at her house yesterday and I was a tiny bit bad.  My Mommy made this "dog-shaming" sign for me. Don't worry; I'm not really in trouble. It's all in good fun!

A Playdate With My Friend

Hi Everybuddy!

I had a really fun playdate yesterday with my friend Maggie.  She is so tiny and I love her!  Sometimes Mommy has to remind me that she is smaller than me and that I shouldn't run up and push my face into her face because she might be scared.  This is hard for me to understand because usually I am the smallest dog.  I sometimes forget that I'm bigger than her.

One of our favorite things to do together is play chase around the backyard.  We are very zoomie.  Maggie is pretty fast.  If I didn't have back problems, I would be as fast as her though, and don't you forget it!

I will catch up to you, Maggie!  Boing boing zoom zoom ruuuuuuunnnnn!!!  Daddy says, "Not so fast Poppy!  You don't want to hurt your back!"

Phew!  That was fun!  Did I catch you?  Or did you stop?  Well, let's not quibble over details.

After running, it's good to have a little snack.  Our garden is overflowing and Daddy picked these produces for me!  (You know how I love produce.)  At least I thought they were for me, but then I didn't get to have hardly any!  Only one small cherry tomato!  I did my best to let everybuddy know what I wanted by scratching on this big tomato.

After snacks, we did sunbathing.  We are both very fond of sunbathing.  Maybe someday we will lie right next to each other in the sun like good bestest friends.  But for now, we will choose our own sunbathing spots.  I chose the dusty goldfine because it is a little bit soft.  Maggie chose the patio.  She was close to the water bowl for easy access.  Smart!

I hope you have a fun weekend with your family and friends!

My Beach Day

Hi Everybuddy!

On Friday I said that I was hoping to go to the beach on Saturday, and...we did!  It was so warm and sunshiny by the ocean and we had a great time.

When we got there, I started exploring and found one of my favorite things right away: iceplant!  I like to try to chew on it a little bit.  Mommy and Daddy always stop me from eating it though.  It's so juicy; they don't know what they're missing out on!

We went for a little run-around down by the water.  It is waaay too cold to go in, in my opinion.  However, there was a big black lab there who kept chasing his ball into the waves.  So brave!  I prefer to stay dry.

We had a little photo session.  Do you like my pose?  I think I did a pretty good job!

And of course I had to get a yummy treat for posing so nicely!

Mostly what I love to do at the beach is sunbathe.  I like baking until I am nice and hot.  Mommy calls me her little desert dog.  Don't worry--I always wear my sunscreen!

I hope your weekend was as nice as mine!

A Long Walk

Hi Furiends!

Mommy and I went on a super long walkie today!  We don't know exactly how long though, because Mommy forgot to push the button on her pedometer.  Maybe next time she should let me wear it.  Anyway, we walked all around our neighborhood.  It is a super nice and sunny today, so it was a nice day for a walk.

Mommy, why did you take a picture of me walking past a sewer hole cover?  Hmmm, this is not a very photogenic picture.  But this is a good action shot because you can see one of my paws up in the air.

Oh, this picture is much better!  For some reason Mommy always wants me to look at the camera.  I don't know why.  My profile is very cute.

Look at this pretty lantana flower we saw!  It was red and orange and yellow--I like all of those colors!

Whew!  Now that we are home, I think I am going to take a little rest on my favorite pillow.  Mommy, can you please put the camera away and let me have my beauty rest?  Thank you!

Bye for now,
Poppy the LBC

Pee Ess:  I am hoping to go to the beach tomorrow.  Cross your paws for me!
